How does prediction work on joinDOTA?

To predict the outcome of a match you need to be logged into a (GameSports Network) account on joinDOTA.

How many predictions can I make?

You may predict outcomes of any available matches. However, only one account per person is allowed to participate in the joinDOTA Oracle. In case of participation in the joinDOTA Oracle with multiple accounts per person, joinDOTA reserves the right to ban any such accounts from participation. If you think this has erronously happened to you please make a support ticket.

Where do I make predictions?

To predict the outcome of a match you need to navigate to a match page. To do this you can go to your chosen match from the match ticker, from a coverage page or predict outcomes of multiple matches on the joinDOTA Oracle hub.

How much is the deposit?

joinDOTA Oracle is completely free! Just choose the team you think will win and gain enough points by the end of the joinDOTA Oracle to be crowned winner.

How are the points calculated?

The points are calculated with a formula. The main numbers taken into account for the calculation are the overall amount of matches for the duration of the event and how many correct predictions you've made with your cheese. In case you want to calculate your points yourself here's the full formula: Your points = log(#all predictions)*100*(#right predictions/#all predictions)

What can I win?

All of the prizes will be listed in the announcement news for the joinDOTA Oracle event. Be on the look-out as the prizes change from event to event!

How do I get my prize?

The winner(s) will be contacted through private messages a couple of days after we've finalised the point count for the duration of joinDOTA Oracle event. (Unless we're super-super busy with something else going on it might take a bit longer for us to contact you.)

If you've won any prizes tradable through Steam, please make sure your trading link is valid.

Where do I find the Steam trading link?

1. Make sure you are logged into your Steam account
2. Go to your Inventory
3. Click on "Trade Offers"
4. Click on "Who can send me Trade Offers?"
5. Copy the URL under the "Third-Party Sites" section

Why are some matches not counted towards my points? Why can't I predict the outcome of some matches?

Whenever a match is counted as a default win no points can be awarded, because the predictions would be based on an agreed outcome of the match.
Also, predictions will not be available for matches that were added to our system after the game had already started.

What is the duration for a joinDOTA Oracle challenge?

The usual duration of a joinDOTA Oracle event is from the first day of the given month starting at 00:00 lasting until the last day of the month ending at 23:59. Keep your eyes wide open for announcements on special promotions that might last for a different duration of time!
