There is one dominating topic in the Dota forums at the moment: when will the Windranger Arcana finally be released? The Windranger Arcana "Compass of the Rising Gale" will be available once level 575 of this year's Battle Pass is unlocked – which means it is quite a pricey skin. The Compendium ends in 43 days, so fans are eager to receive the promised remaining content. Reddit-user elemental_life already analyzed the general amount of content and its release pattern in the past. Their conclusion: we should receive new content every six days. However, another user also speculated that we might get the Pudge Persona first.



The Dota community is definitely excited about the skin, as not only are Reddit and social media platforms flooded with artwork and memes surrounding the redheaded archer, there also is an incredibly high chance to meet her in a pub game. According to Dotabuff, Windranger is the sixth most played hero this month with a pick rate of 18.41%, which totals 2,950,177 matches.

Time for target practice



To hype you up even more during the waiting period, we collected some top Windranger moments. When talking about the hero, one pro player in particular springs to mind: Nigma's midlaner Omar 'w33haa' Aliwi. The Romanian player is known for his insane Windranger performance and provided arguably the most iconic WR play in competitive Dota. His heads-up Smoke detection method at The Frankfurt Major caught the attention of fans as he simply sent his Illusions to parole on a gateway to scout the invisible enemies.



However, once the Arcana is released and everyone is ready to spam her, you should take precautions when playing against Topias 'Topson' Taavitsainen. He is able to easily outplay the windy markswoman, as he displayed in a pub.



One Dota personality who might relive his personal hell after the release of the special skin is Jake 'SirActionSlacks' Kenner. A self-proclaimed WR hater, he did everything in his power to prevent a potential WR Arcana, but his efforts were all for nothing. His chat even donated him $500 to see him play the hero – and he reluctantly fulfilled his duty.



w33's former team-mate Martin 'Saksa' Sazdov recently proved that WR cannot only be played as core, but also as an incredibly impactful support. The BLAST Bounty Hunt was shackled by his precise shots and perfect positioning, which might serve as inspiration to follow in your next games.



The Arcana release could also be a great opportunity to answer the question: which Dota hero is the most skilled archer? Janne 'Gorgc' Stefanovski once had to take a spanking when playing Clinkz, so it is time for him to take his revenge. Or players can simply join forces and recruit a "Team Bow" with Windranger, Drow Ranger, Medusa, Clinkz and Mirana. Maybe not the most tactical line-up, but you can take down enemies with style.



If you don't like to take engagements, you can also make use of another trademark characteristic of the hero, her juke potential. If Gleb 'Funn1k' Lipatnikov managed to escape from the claws of Team Dignitas*, you can definitely try to run away from your opponents as well.
