After a long and arduous journey followed by almost a full week of playoff games, WePlay Dota 2 League is down to it's final four contenders, as
The Alliance will face off against
Evil Geniuses in a truly in-house battle today, 11th of May at 20:00 CEST, followed by tomorrows match between
Team Liquid and
Na`Vi, which will take place at 17:00 CEST.
So far we've said goodbye to
Fnatic.EU and
QPAD Red Pandas, who've both had a rough time lately, Fnatic in particular as the outside obligations of their Captain
Tal 'Fly' Aizik are at their busiest during the first earlier parts of this month. In this sense, the exit of these two familiar names from the competition was, sadly, rather expected.
Meanwhile the International Western Qualifier hopefuls
Mousesports delivered a rough performance, beating out
Kaipi before falling victim to the Alliance in two straight games followed by a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Na`Vi. While Na`Vi played well, Mouz were certainly not helped in this crucial match by having to use stand-in
Andrei 'Zizou' Zisu in place of
Pascal 'paS' Lohmeier.
The final team so far to make an early exit has been
Team Dignitas, who were dropped down into the lower bracket once more by the Swedes of Alliance, where they defeated QPandas before facing off agains their North American rivals Team Liquid. While recent games have been going back and forth, this time it was Liquid who drew the longer straw, keeping their hopes alive for the competition.
The tournament is set to end this weekend, with the Grand Final being scheduled for Sunday the 12th of May, kicking off at around 21:00 CEST.
