It came by surprise when Beyond the Summit announced the next episode of their legendary Summit series in between the Major and the Minor. Six teams will compete at the tournament: Fnatic, Evil Geniuses and Thunder Predator – three Major participants as well as Team Liquid, Cloud9 and OG Seed.
All six teams are in one group and will play against each other in a best-of-two Round Robin format over two days . The four best teams of the first stage will advance to the playoffs where they'll determine the Dota Summit 12 champion right before the Major kicks off.

Team Liquid will kick off the tournament against Fnatic. We'll get the chance to see eight Bo2's on the first day and seven more on day two of the competition.
Why should we watch it?
Although Dota Summit squeezed their tournament inbetween the DPC events, we won't get oversaturated by the competition. It comes without saying that Beyond the Summit probably delivers another out-of-the-box show with funny segments and interesting couch talks. Also, the teams themselves are interesting to watch:
It will be the first LAN tournament with Jacky 'EternaLEnVy' Mao back in the dress of Cloud9. On top of that OG Seed finally get a chance to prove their development outside of qualifiers and other online events.
Also, Team Liquid didn't qualify for neither Major nor the Minor, but they're still a favourite next to Evil Geniuses to win Dota Summit 12.
What is your take on this surprising Dota Summit 12? Is it too much Dota action?
