The WePlay! Tug of War: Mad Moon kicks off this Wednesday. From February 19th-23th, eight teams battle it out for the trophy and a price pool of $300,000. The organiser behind the tournament is WePlay! Esports. Their most recent tournament, WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020, turned out to be incredibly well received among the community due to its different twist on several parts of the production. For the last part of the Tug of War series which takes place at the Concert Hall VDNG in Kyiv, the organiser has most likely some highlights of production value prepared as well.

The participants

Eight teams will compete for the trophy. Four of them received a direct invite, the other four consist of winners from former WePlay! Tug of War tournaments. However, Royal Never Give Up had to withdraw their participation, most likely due to current travel restrictions for Chinese residents. Instead, Danil 'Dendi' Ishutin's new team B8 will enter the stage and stand in for RNG.

Natus Vincere had to forfeit their participation as well. The newly formed squad Aggressive Mode take over their place. Most recently, they managed to place second in the groupstage of the ESL One Los Angeles 2020 EU Qualifiers but fell short in the playoffs.
