The Arteezy-Third-Place-Curse is broken. Evil Geniuses won the last fight before the Grand Finals against Vici Gaming. With their 2-1 victory, EG advance to the final battle of DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major.

Game one: Darkness advances

EG took the first match in a convincing manner. After an even early game, they came out as winners of a big team fights around 26 minutes, snowballing since this victory.

The most destructive force was Artour 'Arteezy' Babaev on his Outworld Devourer, dealing 40k damage and finishing with a 12/4/7 score line.

The match started like a bad pub game: four carries mid. Not exactly sure how the opponents will lane, each side simply send in both, their midlaner and carry. After a short standoff, Arteezy eventually occupied mid, whereas Abed 'Abed' Yusop went to the safelane with Naga Siren.

Vici counted on Zeng 'Ori' Jiaoyang's Arc Warden and Zhang 'Eurus' Chengjun's Ember Spirit. But despite having a good early game, they both got completely disabled by Roman 'RAMZEs' Kushnarev who played an impressive Doom. He could always find the right target and used his ulti on Vici's cores, before they could use their Tempest Double or jump away.

The MVP of the match however was Andreas 'Cr1t-' Nielsen on Clockwerk. He perfectly cut into Vici's backline and set up important kills. EG also went for two Pipes of Insight, one on Doom and one on Clockwerk, to nullify Vici's magic damage.

Vici were not able to find the fitting itemisation with two Maelstroms, simply dealing not enough damage against the dominating OD. After 42 minutes and a 15:28 score for EG, Vici had to surrender.

Game two: Gyro-IO prevail

Vici did not simply accept the loss and fought back in game two. The tanky combination of Gyrocopter and IO brought them a convcincing victory, as we could already see several times this DreamLeague.

While Eurus shot down EG and achieved highest networth and kills, Ori managed to recover from a rough start on Viper. He died three times in the first five minutes, but eventually came back and posed a deadly force as well.

EG'S last pick, Broodmother on Abed, did not work out for them. Arteezy however managed to land some perfect RP's with Magnus, but despite his efforts he was not able to carry the game.

In the last ten minutes of the match, EG were not able to deal damage against the tanky Gyro anymore. With Batrider initiations, IO backup and insane damage, Vici overrun EG in a giant team fight and take the series to a third match.

Game three: Rampaging to the finals

A storm blasted over Vici: EG switched up their draft and took game three, winning the series and advancing 2-1 to the finals.

The deciding turning point of the match occured around 23 minutes. Arteezy set up a perfect Chrono on Faceless Void and EG won a teamfight with a five-for-one trade off.

Abed showed an incredible performance on his 14/1/13 Storm Spirit, even achieving a rampage which basically secured their victory. With his deadly Storm, he also got a 90% MVP vote for the match.

Vici was able to fight for 40 minutes, but after a 13:31 score and EG fountain diving, they surrendered. Vici now finish the tournament on third place, whereas EG enter the Grand Finals against Team Secret.

Who do you think is going to win the Grand Finals: Secret or EG?
