One nailbiter, two stomps
The match-up between Aydin 'INSaNIA' Sarkohi and Co. and their former organisation has become a modern classic in professional Dota. At the Major, the two teams met once again in Loser Bracket Round 4 to determine who's going to play Evil Geniuses later that day.
While the first set was an exciting back-and-forth which ended in favour of Alliance after almost one hour, the next two games were performances of utter dominance. Liquid totally played out [A]. Both Nikolay 'Nikobaby' Nikolov and Linus 'Limmp' Blomdin had – unlike the game before – almost no impact on the game.
Meanwhile, iNsania, Michael 'm`ICKe' Vu, and Max 'Qojqva' Broecker played a flawless game, dying not even once.
However, Liquid couldn't repeat their successful formula in game three. This time the competitors changed roles als Alliance rolled over their opponents, ending the map with a 34-6 scoreline 2-1. Liquid's fate was sealed after this scene which caused numerous die-backs from which the fan favourits could not recover.
Clash of favourites: Secret on the road to next Major win?
VG and Secret met for an epic duel to determine our first grand finalist. Both teams have shown excellent performances at the Major so far. Secret seemed in excellent shape in game one.
Lasse 'Matumbaman' Urpalainen displayed a great performance on Monkey King (13/4/7) thanks to the excellent support of both Yazied 'YapzOr' Jaradat and Clement 'Puppey' Ivanov.
VG started off strongly into the second game. However, Secret managed to stay strong and give Matu once again the freedom to farm on his Faceless Void. Time and again, he bashed his enemies to pulp, resulting in an impressive 14/1/19 finish.
With that, Secret advance to the Grand Finals in Leipzig, proving that they are still one of the most powerful teams in Dota. As yet, the addition of Matumbaman seems to work out fine for Secret.
