History repeats itself: a player qualifies for a tournament but gets replaced before attending. It's a fate that occured in three teams for the upcoming WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020. Now the squads attend the event with a slighlty different roster constellation. We took a closer look to the newest additions.

Geek Fam: Santino the Puck master is back

After successfully qualifying for the Minor with Geek Fam, Eric 'Ryoya' Dong got kicked shortly after. But as he revealed in an interview, he does not have any bad feelings against his teammates and wishes them best of luck.

While Ryoya is currently teamless, his place was taken over by Karl Matthew 'Karl' Jayme on December 18th. Karl formerly played under the name Santino. He used to be regarded as best Puck player from SEA several years ago and has once delivered the most legendary play on the hero in Warcraft 3.

Geek Fam will play their opening match against Ninjas in Pyjamas, which likewise had a small roster adjusment on their part.

Ninjas in Pyjamas: reinforcement from UK

Oliver 'Skiter' Lepko got replaced by Jason 'Tanner' Weedon. For him, it will be his first DPC tournament. The UK-midlaner who has an affinity for Invoker lastly played for Vikin.gg, with whom he barely missed qualifying.

According to captain Peter 'ppd' Dager, Tanner caught their attention during said qualifier run, having "a little bit of swagger in his step" and impressed them with his Magnus and Storm Spirit plays. Nigma already made an encounter with his Magnus, with Omar 'w33haa' Aliwi getting dragged to the enemies fountain.

Team Spirit: one shot for nongrata?

The third in the trio is Andrey 'Ghostik' Kadyk, whose successor now is Aleksey 'nongrata' Vasiliev. He joined the team on a trial basis on December 24, after having played for a CIS stack with Danil 'Dendi' Ishutin before. According to Team Spirit, his performance decides his future in the team.

nongrata rose to popularity when he played for FlyToMoon during their surprise run to a third place at EPICENTER XL. The underdogs managed to beat tier 1 giants such as OG and Virtus.pro. The series against VP also resulted into this small but impressive play by nongrata, in which he made sure to quickly secure the Gem by placing it outside the enemies' base before dying.
