ESL is back and brings the first DPC Major to North America

The third Major has been announced: ESL will organize the next Major after DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major in Los Angeles. It's been a while since we saw teams compete at an ESL Major. In fact, the last Major organized by the company based in Cologne was back in 2018 when ESL One Katowice 2018 and ESL One Birmingham 2018 still had a Major rank. Known for their high-class tournaments it was just a matter of time to see them back in the DPC circuit:

The first Major of the Pro Circuit

ESL will organize the third Major of the season and it takes place in Los Angeles from March 20-22. This means ESL One Los Angeles 2020 will be the second DPC event in Los Angeles after DOTA Summit 11 already took place in the biggest city of California. However, it's quite a debut for the region, because this event will be the first North American Major of the Dota Pro Circuit.

In 2018/19 not a single event was held in NA and the season before that only two Minors (Captains Draft Season 4 and DOTA Summit 8) took place in the US. If we include the old format of the Dota Major Championships, Los Angeles is the second Major of North America since The Boston Major in December 2016.

The Shrine Auditorium which can host up to 6.300 people will be open to public from March 20 to March 22 and it also includes a Cosplay Contest like almost every other ESL One event. The group stage already starts on March 15 and the first rounds of groups and playoffs will be played backstage like Mars Media is doing it at the MDL Chengdu Major.

Are you hyped to see a Major in North America?
