Valve certifies: Outlanders update won't be released before the Major

posted by Brasozial,
Once more did Valve surprise us at TI during this year's edition in China. Valve announced two new heroes not in one, but in two different trailers. They've also confirmed that they'll both be added with the Outlanders Update. But when will it be released? For years we waited for the fourth Spirit Brother. Rumours were spread already during The International 2016 that he'll be announced soon – but nothing happened. At TI9, Valve finally gave us more information about the long awaited hero, Void Spirit.

Only a few days earlier Valve already announced another interesting hero. It's the aunt of Timbersaw, a dragon-riding, cookies-baking elderly lady. Both of them will be released in the Outlanders Update that is planned for this fall.

Valve confirms the update release

Fall started already on September 23 and since this date fans have been asking for more information about the upcoming patch. Scrolling through reddit ends in finding more than a handful of threads of people waiting. Now Valve finally communicated a time window:

A confirmed Valve employee broke the silence and gave us some insights about the process of releasing the new heroes. He explains that they avoid specific dates in update announcement, because "things can shift and we wouldn't want the expectation to be a specific day if a little bit more time was needed."

However, he also explains that they'll have a similar plan to last year when they've released the update after the first Major. So we'll still need to wait for one more month, because the MDL Chengdu Major ends on November 24.

What should be changed in the new patch?
