EG break the curse and make it to the Grand Finals

posted by Smyke,
Finally we'll see Evil Geniuses fighting for another trophy! The North American squad beat PSG.LGD in the deciding game. Three more teams fight for the second spot in the Grand Finals. In the first series of the day TNC Predator came close to kick the best team in the world out of the tournament. However, Team Secret fought back and ended the Lower Bracket match with a 2-1 victory.

Michał 'Nisha' Jankowski started strong by finishing game one with incredible stats of 8/0/15. It seemed like Secret would win this series easily, but TNC had a good comeback. Led by the TI7 winner Soung-Gon 'Heen' Lee as their coach, TNC adapted perfectly in game two to beat Secret. Except for Carlo 'Kuku' Palad not a single TNC player died - it was a stomp!

Clement 'Puppey' Ivanov returned that favor in game three and led his team into a dominant victory. Yeik Nai 'MidOne' Zheng's Templar Assasin was almost unstoppable.

Secret will face AS Monaco Gambit in the last series of the day. This is the rematch of ESL One Katowice's Grand Finals. Artem 'fng' Barshack and his team-mates already beat Team Liquid and Vici Gaming in the Lower Bracket.

The CIS squad is the dark horse that could surprise everybody at the second ESL One of Birmingham.

EG took revenge

In the second match of the day Evil Geniuses had to play against PSG.LGD, the only team that was capable of beating EG in the group stage. However, this time it was a clean victory for the North American squad. Sumail 'SumaiL' Syed Hassan and Co. beat PSG.LGD in two games and the MVP of both games was Artour 'Arteezy' Babaev.

Maybe ESL's small gift of ladder helped Arteezy, better known as Cliffteezy, to overcome the third place curse. The Canadian carry has been killed just once each game, but finished the matches with five and eight kills. SumaiL's Leshrac was in the thick of things in game one - and the youngster was able to finish off twelve enemies.

In game two Gustav 's4' Magnusson had a great performance on the freshly added Mars and killed nine opponents. EG is grabbing for their second trophy since Tal 'Fly' Aizik and Gustav 's4' Magnusson joined.

Do you think EG can finally win a tournament this season?
