The playoffs of the Dota PIT Minor have started and Royal Never Give Up's easy run to victory was stopped by the North American underdogs.


The Chinese squad was ranked as a favourite of the Dota Pit Minor, because they won every game in the group stage. However, the playoffs were not that successful for Zhi Cheng 'LaNm' Zhang and his team-mates. The first series of the day was a disappointment for RNG: they lost to Forward Gaming.

Royal Never Give Up had only 26 kills in both games combined. Yawar 'YawaR' Hassan alone killed 25 opponents for Forward Gaming - he was unstoppable.




NiP shatter Majestic's hopes



FreeStyle have been the biggest surprise of the tournament: they beat EHOME and Forward Gaming to finish second in their group. NiP, on the other hand, performed poorly and lost two matches in the group stage.




ppd seemed better prepared for the match against the South American team in the playoffs: NiP beat Majestic 2-0 in less than 60 minutes. It was the perfect match for Marcus 'Ace' Hoelgaard who played Medusa and Spectre in the series and died only one single time.



In the second game of the Upper Bracket Round, Forward will face NiP next. The winner of this best-of-three series is automatically in the top three of the tournament, has a good shot to win the event and qualify for the MDL Disneyland Paris Major.
