Alliance's comeback in the top-level scene started at the beginning of this Dota 2 Pro Circuit - online at least. At their first Minor competition they finally seem to be ready to grab a throphy.

The Swedish squad has finished first in their group at the end of the day and didn't lose a single game. They started in the tournament against the Chinese team EHOME and Alliance proved right away that Zhang 'xiao8' Ning, Luo 'Ferrari_430' Feichi and their team-mates won't be a threat to the Swedish power house. Alliance took advantage of EHOME's weakness in the late game to win game two after 71 minutes.

Next up was Forward Gaming, the North American squad has been attending their first Minor of this season without Saahil 'Universe' Arora, Roman 'Resolut1on' Fominok and Avery 'SVG' Silverman.

Aydin 'INSaNIA' Sarkohi did a great job again and led his team to a victory, although Forward was able to win game one. Madara's Lifestealer was too strong for Forward in the second game - he didn't die a single time. Afterwards Max 'Qojqva' Broecker had a great performance with Queen of Pain to win the series for his team.

Majestic surprise everybody

The last series was a bit of a surprise: because Alliance faced the only other team with two victories so far - and it was the South American team FreeStyle. Nobody would have expected Adrian 'Wisper' Cesperes and his team-mates to beat their Chinese and North American opponents.

They started with the same aggressive playstyle against Alliance and succeeded. After 43 minutes and 19 seconds Alliance had to call 'GG' and Majestic was one victory away from winning group b. However, iNsania decided to go on with another game plan: Alliance drafted Storm Spirit for Max 'Qojqva' Broecker in game two and three of this series - and that has been the perfect call. The German mid laner stomped his way through game two with 14 kills, zero death and 17 assists.

In game three, the Peruvians tried everything to stop qojqva and therefore gave enough space to Omar 'Madara' Dabachach to carry his team on Morphling to the victory. Alliance was on fire.

They're facing AS Monaco Gambit in the playoffs now. Although Gambit have had disappointing result in the group stage, Artem 'fng' Barshack and his team-mates could end Alliance's run. The CIS team proved already at ESL One Katowice 2019 that they're capable of beating favorites.

Do you think Alliance is the favorite to win the event?
