Setsu upsets Ninjas in Pyjamas
Coming into the first series of the day, most would have expected Ninjas in Pyjamas to beat the Royal Never Give Up. But, as it happens, Gao 'Setsu' Zhenxiong had other plans. Game One was an hour-long battle of attrition and, although NIP came out with the victory, RNG lasted as long as they did because of Setsu's Ember Spirit.
Games Two and Three saw Setsu go into overdrive. His 14-1-10 Templar Assassin steamrolled NIP in the second match, and his 11-2-14 Ember Spirit bought Du 'Monet' Peng time to farm on Medusa in the third, effectively allowing him to become unstoppable. In the end RNG simply performed too well for NIP to overcome in the series.
BOOM ID punish an underwhelming Gambit
The second series in Group A was a bit strange, as even though BOOM Esports played very well, AS Monaco Gambit seemed to be off their game. In Game One the Southeast Asian squad looked more consistent throughout the match, and though Gambit pulled off a clean win in Game Two, they were massacred by BOOM ID in the decisive game 25-5. Rafli 'Mikoto' Faturahman had a standout series, finishing Game Three with a 13-1-1 KDA on his Outworld Devourer.
we did it, GGWP to Gambit

We won 2-1. We'll face RNG tomorrow#HungryBeast
Alliance 2-0 EHOME in the only sweep of the day
Not even the Director Zhang 'xiao8' Ning could stop Alliance in their Group B series. While the first game was a more standard match, the second was a 71-minute marathon comeback. Both teams were fighting a lot (97 kills in total) but EHOME was building a strong lead. However, even at a 13k net worth disadvantage, Alliance kept posturing and dragging out the game, and after a shrewdly taken final teamfight, they were able to flip the net worth and steal the win
We break the 2-1 curse and claim our series 2-0! GG's to @EHOMECN !! Our next series is tomorrow vs @goFORWARDgg see you then fam! 💚#LongLiveAlliance #DotaPit pic.twitter.com/c5nUbUMKVy

Majestic stunts Forward Gaming
As the commentators pointed out at the end of the series, if someone were to say FreeStyle were going to defeat Forward Gaming, you would think they were crazy.
And yet that's exactly what happened. Majestic were the more skilled team against Forward's Medusa draft in Game One; however, in the second match saw Forward comeback with a one-sided showcase and a dominating 14-1-9 Faceless Void by Yawar 'YawaR' Hassan.
But Forward Gaming could not repeat the performance in Game Three. Hector Antonio 'K1 Hector' Rodriguez Asto's 9-0-8 Sven was a raid boss in and no member of Forward could stand toe-to-toe with him. In the end Forward Gaming simply could not keep up with Majestic Esports and called the GG after a lost late teamfight.
GGs, Majestic! Unfortunately we drop Game 3 and lose the series 1-2. But there's still two more matches in the #DotaPitMinor group stage - we'll be back tomorrow around 10:30am EST to play @theAllianceGG in a BO3! #PushForward pic.twitter.com/WAFtwBn5SC
