Forward Gaming was able to take a 2-0 over North American rivals J.Storm thanks to strong play by CCnC, and advance to the Grand Finals against Team Team.

CCnC unflinching in round two against J.Storm

Forward Gaming recently defeated J.Storm to qualify for the Dota PIT Minor; the semifinal of Qi Invitational Americas was a rematch between the two teams, but Quinn 'CCnC' Callahan ensured that history would repeat for his squad.

In Game One J.Storm went all in on a David 'Moo' Hull Anti-Mage, but it was an uphill battle as Forward was in the driver's seat for the majority of the match. Yawar 'YawaR' Hassan anchored the game on his 10-3-7 Medusa, and some awkward plays by J.Storm allowed CCnC's 8-1-7 Outworld Devourer to turn some key teamfights. In the end time ran out for J.Storm and they had to concede at 32 minutes.

Game Two was an incredibly scrappy match featuring 80 kills in 55 minutes. The two teams stayed relatively even through 32 minutes, but at this point CCnC's Morphling was getting very strong. Despite a good showing by Moo, J.Storm simply could never get the upper hand. A desperation Rapier by Jonathan Bryle 'Bryle' Santos De Guia bought J.Storm a bit more time, but ultimately it could not stop CCnC who was able to force the GG out of his opponents; he finished the game 20-6-14.

EternaLEnVy grows stronger every series

For along time Jacky 'EternaLEnVy' Mao was a byword in the Dota 2 community, but it looks like finally he is starting to make his comeback. He has been performing very well lately, and his match against compLexity Gaming was no different.

In Game One the teams were even for 15 minutes, but after this beastcoast took a commanding lead which they never let go of. Nico 'Gunnar' Lopez was controlling the tempo of the match on his 15-2-17 Ember Spirit, which gave EnVy room to farm. By the time the match reached lategame there will little for compLexity left except to call the GG at 43 minutes.

Game Two was all about EternaLEnVy. From the very beginning he had a strong farming start and his team did not lose a single lane. Good support plays kept compLexity in check, especially Linus 'Limmp' Blomdin's Templar Assassin, who was stymied by Team Team, while EnVy's Naix grew fat. Eventually he was too strong to contest, and a final teamfight for Team Team inside compLexity's base sealed the game at 39 minutes.

Forward Gaming will face off against Team Team in the Grand Finals at 20:00 EDT.

The Grand Finals promises to be a thrilling bout between CCnC and EternaLEnVy.
