Na'Vi's dreams shattered, Newbee still hopes for a Minor ticket

South America's and South-East Asia's Dota PIT Minor qualifier are about to start while two teams from China and one CIS squad will each be granted a Minor spot tomorrow.

Will Sccc qualify for his first DPC event of the season?

With Newbee, Song 'Sccc' Chun came close to win the Aegis in 2017. They were in the Grand Finals against Team Liquid, but were not able to defeat Kuro S. 'KuroKy' Takhasomi and his team-mates. Since this outstanding tournament result of the Chinese squad, only two players have remained in Newbee: Sccc and Xu 'Moogy' Han.

The team is really not in shape at the moment and didn't even qualify for a single DPC event this season. The competition in China is way too tough right now. Two players joined after the third round of Major tournaments ended. Youngster Wen 'Wizard' Lipeng used to play for Newbee.Young and Mr Game Boy. Now, he finally got his shot in the first team.

Newbee also resigned one of the organization's biggest legend: Wang 'SanSheng' Zhaohui The International 2014 won TI4 with Newbee and switched to coaching position afterwards. However, to help out his former team, he decided to go back into an active role as position five support - and it's a success.

Although Newbee lost in the Upper Bracket of the Chinese Minor qualifier against their farm team Newbee.Young, they had a good run in the Lower Bracket and are currently waiting for the loser of the match between EHOME and Royal Never Give Up. They need to beat both teams to qualify for the Minor.

Gambit eliminates Na'Vi in the qualifier

Artem 'fng' Barshack and his team-mates made sure that Natus Vincere won't surpass their team in the DPC ranking. Natus Vincere lost 0-2 against AS Monaco Gambit and is therefore out of the Minor race.

Gambit is waiting in the Grand Finals of the qualifier for the winner of the series between Old But Gold and Uvajenie.Hope.

South America and SEA are about to start

While the first three regions are almost done and thus have determined their respective representive at the Minor, three more regions are still waiting - and two are about to start soon. The South American qualifier has two favourites from Peru in the playoffs: Infamous and Thunder Predator.

Both Peruvian teams already attended DPC tournaments this season and will probably play against each other for the only SA Minor spot on April 6 at 02:30 CEST. However, it's still a long way to get there: they both have two win two best-of-three series.

In South-East Asia two top teams are also fighting for a Minor slot: TNC Predator and Tigers are the favourites to make it into their regionals Grand Finals.

Especially Tigers will be in the focus of SEA Dota 2 fans. Some Instagram stories revealed that Marc Polo Luis 'Raven' Fausto will play for the squad. It's not sure if Tho Van '458' Trinh or Kim 'Velo' Taesung will be replaced by the Filipino allstar.
