Mushi was not enough: Team Aster falls to VG

posted by Smyke,
The Malaysian veteran joined Team Aster right before the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor started, but he wasn't able to help BurNIng's team make it through the tournament. Chai 'Mushi' Yee Fung and his new teammates actually had a good start to the qualifier. They beat Vici Gaming in the first round and were only one step away from qualifying for the event in Kiev.

However, Royal Never Give Up, the team with Du 'Monet' Peng and Soon Chuan 'ah fu' Tue, was too strong for Team Aster. RNG beat them in two games.

Vici Gaming stops Team Aster

The first game on Tuesday was between VG and Triumphant Song Gaming.JZONE.XH. The underdogs didn't have a chance against Zhang 'Eurus' Chengjun and co., losing 0-2. Therefore, Vici Gaming had to play against Team Aster a second time, but this time with the better outcome for VG.

In less than one hour of total playtime, Vici Gaming beat Team Aster, taking the last slot for the upcoming Minor. Mushi lost both mid lane duels against Zeng 'Ori' Jiaoyang in this series. The Grand Finalist from ESL One Katowice 2018 will travel to the Ukraine to represent China together with RNG. This is a huge disappointment for BurNIng's fans since his squad was considered to be one of the best teams in China before the season started.

However, bad performances in the last tournaments resulted in changes in the mid lane. The latest addition to the Team Aster squad was Chai 'Mushi' Yee Fung. The Malaysian carry played for Tigers in the DreamLeague Major qualifier at the end of January, but didn't even make it to the Closed Qualifier. The veteran got replaced afterwards.

Now, only two more teams are missing to complete the list of participants for the StarLadder Minor. The European and the South American teams play their last games tonight.

On which position does Team Aster need to improve?
