The North American carry Mason 'mason' Venne hasn't played for a professional team for more than a year, but now he's back - and he aims for his first DPC points. One team made it through the NA open qualifier for StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor while three other squads got invited. The fourth team next to compLexity Gaming, test 123 and beastcoast is faZe.

While the name of the team is unknown to us, wut the frog's team members are all players with a lot of experience. The Rooons trio Andrew 'Jubei' Evelynn, Boris and Jaron 'Monkeys-Forever' Clinton joined wut the frog. They attended the first Minor in Stockholm in November 2018 and finished in 7-8th place.

The mid laner of the North American squad is Quinn 'CCnC' Callahan who played for paiN X before at The Kuala Lumpur Major. This means that he'll play against his former teammates Rodrigo 'Lelis' Santos and Francis 'FLee' Lee at test 123 as well as Jacky 'EternaLEnVy' Mao and JingJun 'Sneyking' Wu. The duo played for a short stint with the former paiN X core, but decided to form their own team.

The comeback of an NA veteran

However, the biggest surprise is the hard carry of wut the frog: Mason 'mason' Venne will be celebrating his comeback after being inactive for more than a year. His last team was the old Digital Chaos* squad which got released in November 2017.

Before that he played for Team Onyx and Evil Geniuses. With EG he even came close to winning TI. They were the best Western team at The International 2014 and finished third after a devastating 1-2 loss against Fy's Vici Gaming.

Will mason be able to qualify for the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor?
