Clean sweep for the Peruvian org
Apart from a tight third game, the final seemed never to be in doubt — Gorillaz - Pride took down opponents Team South in a 3-0 series clean sweep.
The first game saw Pride get off to the best start, the dual threat of Jean Pierre 'Chris Luck' Gonzales’s Invoker and Bernardo David 'Berna' Rocca Alarcon’s Phantom Assassin proving to be too deadly. The pair picked up 26 kills between them as Team South were rolled over in just 33 minutes — the shortest game of the series.
Game Two was more of a battle as the net worth lead changed hands several times. In what was to be a 52-minute marathon, it was once again Berna and the Phantom Assassin who made the difference in helping to seal the win and with it, championship point.
This seemed to spur Team South into action, and Game Three was a much, much closer affair. However, they again allowed Berna to pick up the Phantom Assassin — who promptly went on to pick up another 16 kills for an overall series total of 48.
Hector’s Terrorblade did put up a fight, bettering Berna’s haul, but it just wasn’t meant to be. A seven-for-no-loss teamfight just before the half-hour mark finally turned things in Pride’s favour, and they went on to close out the win just six minutes later.
Our congratulations go to our joinDOTA League Americas Season 14 champions, Gorillaz-Pride!
