We're looking back at a good year in 2018. OG won The International 2018 and set a new record for Major victories. However, we took a look at which stories were the most interesting for our community. Here are the top eight joinDOTA stories.

1st place: Ohaiyo getting kicked from Fnatic

It was one of the most surprising and heartbreaking transfer stories of this year. The Malaysian carry didn't expect to get kicked after helping the team to qualify for ESL One Katowice 2018. The legendary pizza party is the meme created from this story.

2nd place: Star mid-laner Miracle- didn't travel to DreamLeague

Team Liquid started this year as the reigning TI7 champion — and all eyes were on Kuro and his team-mates. When Amer 'Miracle-' Al-Barkawi couldn't attend DreamLeague Season 9 it meant Kuro would be the carry like in the good old days.

3rd place: Ceb's first interview after Fly and s4 departed

Everybody craved an answer: why did Tal 'Fly' Aizik and Gustav 's4' Magnusson leave the squad? Sebastien 'Ceb' Debs spoke in an interview in French about several topics, and our own Malystryx took the time to translate and summarize it.

4th place: Fly and s4 actually leave OG

Let's be honest: nobody ever expected that Tal 'Fly' Aizik would leave OG, his own team, and leave behind his friend Johan 'BigDaddyN0tail' Sundstein. However, it happened and we know what happened afterwards.

5th: iceiceice trusted in Mineski

It was actually not that big of a story: Mineski didn't change their roster. However, back in those days everbody feared another pizza party on every corner. The Southeast Asians hit big waves by sticking to the old — that's good!

6th: Fly and n0tail's end

It was a tough topic leading into The International 2018 — no wonder three stories about the roster swap are in our top eight. In this story we summarized the way they got together and the impact this swap had.

7th: MinD_ContRoL can't control himself in a pub

The influence of a racist tweet can have a huge impact — Carlo 'Kuku' Palad can attest to that. In the end it was the way he handled it that made people furious. Ivan 'MinD_ContRoL' Borislavov made a mistake, too — however, he apologised and made it clear that this won't happen again.

8th: The biggest underdog story

This is the moment nobody will ever forget. Against all odds OG made it into the Grand Finals of TI8. The squad beat PSG.LGD in an incredible back-and-forth match to lift the trophy. Congratulations again!
