Was ESL One Hamburg not enough for you, Dota fans? Well, fear not — we’re straight back into ‘big tournament’ mode with the DreamLeague Minor, which has already kicked off as we speak! And yet again, it brings us a juicy match-up...

A battle not only for prize money

This season’s shake-up to the DPC format sees added significance for the Minor tournaments. While last year wins just granted less prize money and DPC points than a Major, this year there is all to play for — as the winners will earn a place at The Bucharest Major 2018.

With compLexity Gaming taking on Infamous in the tournament’s first match (which compLexity have just taken 2-0), we have seven full days of action to keep us entertained. And boy, are there storylines!

Dendi vs Natus Vincere — Round 2

Those two teams are joined in Group A by the newly minted Vega Squadron * (after the org picked up Lithium) and Natus Vincere — meaning Danil 'Dendi' Ishutin will face his former side once again.

The Ukrainian star will stand in for Anas 'MagE-' Hirzalla, after the latter fell victim to the dreaded visa issues that plague top Dota 2 professionals. Dendi also faced Na’Vi at the Maincast Autumn Brawl for Team Secret, with the CIS side coming out on top.

Who will take Group B?

On the other side of the draw, Chinese side Royal Never Give Up will be looking to make an impression at their first ever DPC event, having beat out Team Serenity, Newbee and EHOME to qualify.

They are joined by Europe qualifiers and all-Swedish roster The Final Tribe, Brian 'BananaSlamJamma' Canavan and his Rooons roster, and David 'Moonmeander' Tan’s SEA represenatives Tigers.

The first match in that group — The Final Tribe vs RNG — gets under way at 16:30 CET, with Roons vs Tigers scheduled for 19:30 CET.

Big-name talent for the big games

Bringing you all the action are the casting team, led by Sheever on the desk. SirActionSlacks, OD Pixel, Fogged and Kyle have made the short trip from Hamburg to Stockholm, making it a marathon couple of weeks, while rounding out the squad are Moxxi and AdmiralBulldog — who suffers no visa issues in his home country.

All matches in the Group Stage are best-of-three, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the Upper Bracket, and the bottom two heading into the Lower Bracket. A double-elimination format in the Playoffs leads to a best-of-five Grand Final, to take place at 16:30 CET on Sunday, 4 November.

Who do you think will take home the victory and make the Major?
