The playoffs are well under way at the court of Beyond the Summit, and it’s pretty much as-expected after the first round of matches.

Fnatic get off to a comfortable start

As the invited team, Fnatic were playing their first match of the tournament in the first round of the playoffs. They faced the third-placed team from the group stage, Yoshimoto.Detonator, and came out with a pretty comfortable 2-0 sweep.

Game 1 was a straightforward win, with DeToNator registering just four kills for Fnatic’s 26. Singaporean carry Daryl Koh 'iceiceice' Pei Xiang led the way with a perfect-KDA 11/0/7 game as his side sealed the win in less than 19 minutes.

Game 2 was a kill-fest, with 83 kills registered in total. Three of Fnatic’s players hit double figures as they won skirmish after skirmish, establishing an 18.5k lead around the half-hour mark. Despite threatening a comeback by clawing back over 10k, Fnatic closed out the win and sealed the match.

Lotac continue winning run

In the other match, the top two teams from the group stage faced off. While their last meeting ended in a 1-1 tie, this one ended in a sweep for Lotac against Clutch Gamers.

Game 1 saw Marc Polo Luis 'Raven' Fausto run rampant, claiming almost a quarter of all scalps in a 60-kill, 39-minute game. The lead changed hands several times in the opening ten minutes, before Lotac seized control and closed out the game with a lead of more than 20k.

Game 2 lasted just a minute longer, but was more calm with regards to kills. Chong Xin 'Ohaiyo' Khoo led the charts on that one, with Raven just behind, and the game followed an almost-identical pattern to the first. Ultimately it was Lotac who bested Clutch.

Now Fnatic take on Lotac in the Upper Bracket finals, while Clutch and DeToNator face off to keep their tournament hopes alive.

Can Fnatic be stopped?
