One of the more out-there tournaments on the calendar, Red Bull’s custom Guardians event gets under way this Friday. It promises a great deal of fascinating Dota 2, and Red Bull have flown in the big names to bring you all the action. Hosting duty goes to Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden. It’s been a busy few weeks for her having gone from the PVP Esports Championship in Singapore to the Maincast Autumn Brawl in Russia, and now to the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London for Guardians.

Joining her are the commentary team. Ioannis “Fogged” Loucas, Austin “Capitalist” Walsh and Owen “OD Pixel” Davies were all with Sheever in Singapore, with Fogged and OD Pixel joining her in Russia.

Also part of the team in London, William “Blitz” Lee is a popular figure on the circuit, having been part of the last five editions of The International among others.

The Red Bull Guardians event sees four teams do battle in a custom Dota 2 format. Teams will be allowed to draft three extra heroes per game, which can then be swapped into the game on a three-minute individual cooldown.

It is sure to provide tons of excitement, as players try to work out the best strategies to dominate their foes. Representing SEA are Mineski, with paiN Gaming* coming from South America. Brian 'BananaSlamJamma' Canavan and his Rooons side will fly the flag for North America, while Europe will have Vega Squadron (EU) fighting its corner.

You can read all about the event here. Also, check out our feature on possible strategies!

Who do you think will be the ultimate Red Bull Guardian?
