We’re back with another month of crystal balls and Dota matches as things really kick off in the new season. Are you a top Dota 2 trainer? Can you predict ‘em all? September was all about qualifiers, with teams battling it out for places at the first big events of the season — The Kuala Lumpur Major, the DreamLeague Season 10 Minor and ESL One Hamburg 2018. With plenty of games to cast your guesses over, who came out on top?

Well, that honour goes to doodles, who takes the top prize thanks to a whopping 73.3% accuracy in their guesses! It really was an impressive performance, and victory was secured by a margin of just 4.6 points.

Coming in second was jordan1 — who must be kicking themselves after coming so close to a second consecutive victory. Their record of 117 correct from 169 guesses was just not quite enough, but they were certainly the most prolific in attempts!

Finally, rounding out the top three was Alenka, just a further 2.6 points behind. It was a jump of sixteen places from August’s rankings — impressive!

Congrats to all the winners, to whom a €25 Steam Gift Card is winging its way.

Spoopy month full of potential (Dota 2) horrors?

We may be in the month of Hallowe’en, but before you all get excited for thrills aplenty, consider what we have coming up: a feast of Dota 2 action!

We could see more shocks than witching night itself, thanks to ESL One Hamburg and the start of the first DPC event of the year, DreamLeague Season 10 — with everyone in attendance gunning for that Major spot, you can be sure there’ll be upsets!

There’s also the PVP Esports Championship featuring PSG.LGD and Team Secret. And, of course, there’s joinDOTA League Season 14 for you to sink those fangs into! Mwahahahaha!

Need a refresher?

Making predictions on joinDOTA is easy! Just make sure you're logged in to your account on the site, then use either the coin symbol on the match ticker or click "jD Oracle" on the Events section of the menu. Either one will take you to a page that displays the next six matches open for predictions. As soon as you predict a match, it will disappear and a new one will pop in to take its place.

A little further down the page you'll see the rankings (click "Show all" to find past months). Your most recent predictions will be displayed at the bottom. You can find a detailed explanation of how it all works here. And for a detailed breakdown of the formula, see final comment on this thread.

Good luck!
