With the end of The International 2018, the Battle Pass season has also drawn to a close. While that typically means the end of a lot of the goodies you unlocked, Valve have announced that some of those perks have now been added to their premium subscription service, Dota Plus.

Ranked Role Matchmaking finds new permanent home

One feature that players have often requested is the ability to queue as a specific role, and it was finally implemented for Battle Pass owners in the run up to TI8. While there were criticisms of its implementation, it was generally well received. Now, this queue has come to subscribers, alongside a welcome quest that earns players 5,000 Shards once they complete five wins using it.

One thing is for sure, Slacks is happy...

Sound effects and tipping get the Plus treatment

Overall it was a rather lightweight announcement from Valve, with only two other things mentioned. Those players hoping to spam Lakad Matatag for the rest of their days will be left disappointed, as only select, general effects have been included. They can be purchased for either 3,000, 4,500 or 6,000 shards.

Speaking of Shards, in-game tipping has also been moved to Dota Plus, meaning you can continue to reward your opponent for those moments of being outplayed, or simply pity at taking them down.

Finally, Valve also announced a small bonus for Dota Plus members — any subscriber playing four games this weekend will be credited with 10,000 Shards to spend how they see fit.

Are you a Dota Plus subscriber? What do you think of the update?
