After leaving SEA and Fnatic, Canadian carry Jacky 'EternaLEnVy' Mao has returned to his home region by joining the revamped compLexity Gaming roster. He lines up alongside new recruits JingJun 'Sneyking' Wu and Rolen Andrei Gabriel 'ctm' Ong, while the organisation welcomes back Zakari 'ZfreeK' Freedman and Linus 'Limmp' Blomdin for 2018-19.

The announcement was made in a video by compLexity Dota 2 Manager Josh “TheEsportsChef” Schmidt, in which explains the decision-making process around the post-TI8 roster shuffle. He reveals that their priority was for the position 1 and 5 slots, and that EternalEnvy had approached Zfreek about joining the side as position 5 and captain, instead of previously playing as a carry.

He also reveals that Skem joins from the SEA region, being a player they identified as having a lot of potential and someone for EE to mentor. Sneyking joins having been part of the VGJ.Storm side that impressed so much in the early stages of The International 2018.

Ambition the order of the day

In the video and accompanying article, Schmidt talks of the desire of the organisation to improve on past performances through hard work and entering as many events as possible. compLexity took part in three Majors in the 2017-18 season, falling at the first hurdle at ESL One Katowice 2018 before recording a 9th-11th finish at The Bucharest Major 2018 and a 9th-10th finish at EPICENTER XL. However, they missed out on qualification for The International 2018 by only placing 5th at the North America Qualifiers.

2. se Linus 'Limmp' Blomdin

What do you make of the new roster? Can compLexity make an impact?
