The International heads to China!

After the announcement of yesterday's new heroes, Valve have dropped another surprise - The International 2019 will be held in the Chinese city of Shanghai. The move was announced in a video presentation from a representative of the Shanghai city government. She revealed the venue as the Mercedes-Benz Arena, located in the Pudong zone of the Shanghai World Expo — a majestic UFO-looking 18,000-capacity stadium.



Sweeping vistas of Shanghai both during the day and at night accompanied rising cheers from the crowd in Vancouver, as Chinese fans understandably showed their hype for a home TI.

Is this the start of The International being a roadshow event? It remains to be seen, but this is certainly an interesting development.
