Eight teams played a great season and earned their invitations to The International 2018. In our short series, we present seven facts about all eight DPC legends. This edition is about are the biggest beneficiary of the first Dota 2 Pro Circuit. While they reached just one Grand Finals of a Valve event last season, 2017/18 has finally been their best season! The Eastern European squad won half of all normal Majors, and they were even close to winning the China Dota 2 Supermajor — only Team Liquid beat them in Shanghai.

The ESL Majors were the perfect events for VP — they won ESL One Katowice 2018, ESL One Birmingham 2018 and ESL One Hamburg 2017. Three players in the squad even had one more reason to enjoy ESL events: Aleksey 'Solo' Berezin, Vladimir 'RodjER' Nikogosyan and Vladimir 'No[o]ne' Minenko won the MVP vote, earning them a brand-new Mercedes-Benz each.

RodjER especially has a reason to smile. He didn't just win a Mercedes-Benz, but he's the reason why is back on track. After their first Major win, VP lacked teamwork. Due to disappointing results VP couldn't hold onto first place in the DPC for long. However, they kicked Ilya 'Lil' Ilyuk and picked RodjER of Natus Vincere, and reached the top again. In six weeks VP won two Majors and reached first place in the DPC again. From that moment on VP dominated the Dota 2 scene, and finishing first place having held the lead for most of the season.

Their next goal is The International 2018. Apart from RodjER, all four members have been part of the organization for more than two years, but they're still waiting for a good TI result. as an organization haven't reached the top four of The International yet, but as the favourites for the eighth edition VP finally want to break this negative record.

All 7 facts about

  • VP won four out of nine DPC Majors.
  • They won one Minor
  • Within six weeks of RodjER joining, VP won two Majors
