Yazied 'YapzOr' Jaradat realized his mistake in making a World Cup related tweet and immediately apologised for his actions via TwitLonger. Yesterday was the Grand Final of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia. On the final day of the tournament, France defeated Croatia in a fantastic match. People around the world were posting about the match on social media, including Team Secret support Yazied 'YapzOr' Jaradat.

"Whether in game, through social media, or in person, there is no place for this."

He tweeted: "Congratulations to Nigeria for winning the world cup". For context, the French football team has been at the centre of online discussions about racism and immigration, in part due to the diverse multicultural heritage of its players. According to the BBC, "15 out of the 23 players in the national squad can trace their heritage back to Africa, mainly from French colonies."

The Dota community were quick to react in shock to the tweet and it wasn't long before YapzOr deleted it. Shortly afterwards, he posted a TwitLonger in which he apologised for his initial post.

In the TwitLonger, he states that his post was meant as a joke but that it was in poor taste, adding:

"While there was no malicious intent, I didn’t realise the enormity of my words, and for the offence that I caused I’m really really sorry – they do not reflect my personal values or the respect that I have for my fellow man." - Yazied 'YapzOr' Jaradat
