In this edition of joinDOTA Time Walk, we look back exactly six years — to a time when Natus Vincere seemed to be unbeatable. Another proof for that is Starseries II. After winning The International, Danil 'Dendi' Ishutin and co. were playing exceptionally well - they dominated the early years of Dota 2. Natus Vincere may have reached an all-time low this year, because they didn't even reach the regional qualifier for TI8. However, 2012 looked very good for Na'Vi fans. In fact, they were even on the brink of winning two TIs in a row.

2EZ4Dendi against SingSing

Before they attended TI, they worked hard all year long to hold their status as favourites. One example of that is StarSeries II, exactly six years ago. In League Play they just lost two games out of 15. Afterwards, they attended the offline finals in their hometown of Kiev. In the round robin group stage, they didn't lose a single game to any of the competitors.

In the semifinals, Na'Vi faced Mousesports* '12. Back then, the German organization was playing with the Dutch duo Wehsing 'SingSing' Yuen and Alaan 'Bamboe' Faraj, as well as Dominik 'Black^' Reitmeier.

The European mix was the only team, even able to win a single game against Na'Vi in the playoffs, but couldn't stop the Ukrainians and lost 2-1. After Na'Vi finished off Moscow Five* around Airat 'Silent' Gaziev in a dominant manner, mousesports was able to play against Na'Vi a second time, this time in the Grand Finals.

But they were not good enough in this last match to win a single game against Na'Vi. Dendi, Puppey, Ars-Art, LightOfHeaven and XBOCT were just unstoppable — at least until Invictus Gaming stopped them in the Grand Finals of The International 2012.
