Due to the connection issues, the SA Closed Qualifiers matches are going to be moved to tomorrow, and playoffs to 21-22. This means that tomorrow first game is at 12:00 EDT, between Torus and Thunder, and the rest of the games will follow.— Cristian Duca (@FACEIT_Omicron) June 19, 2018
FACEIT's statement does not mention any possible cuase of the connection issues, but a tweet from Thunder Predator alludes to the idea that this may have been due to a DDoS attack.
Por problemas conexión, Valve ha decidido mover los matches del día de hoy para mañana, mientras posiblemente estén buscando una solución a los ataques de DDoS.— Thunder Predator (@ThunderAwakengg) June 19, 2018
The match between Torus Gaming and Thunder Predator last night could not be completed due to severl full-team disconnects including a time where both teams completely disconnected, leading to the decision to postpone.
No further update has been posted, so we'll have to wait and see what happens when SA matches resume later today. The first match is scheduled for 12:00 EDT, or 18:00 CEST.
We have informed Valve about the situation, and we hope that the teams will use the time until tomorrow to figure out some solutions on their end, meanwhile, we will try to work together to find alternatives on our side. This is all we know now, and we will update you guys tmrw— Cristian Duca (@FACEIT_Omicron) June 19, 2018
