The upper bracket final was saved for the end of the day today. With two DPC titans facing off, it was expected to be a close match - but Liquid had other plans. Amer 'Miracle-' Al-Barkawi's Tinker made its debut at this event in a match against Newbee, after months of not being picked. After this series, Miracle- has now played Tinker four times at the event and three games straight.
LGD actually banned Invoker against Liquid in the first game of this series, but it's surprising that they didn't ban Tinker after the beatdown they were served. The Chinese squad held on until Liquid had taken Mega Creeps, but were forced to call the game at that point.
Tinker was back for Game 2 - again as Liquid's final pick. LGD tried to surprise Liquid with Yang 'Chalice' Shenyi's Pangolier but were overrun a second time. It wasn't all bad for LGD, they had a few moments where it looked like things could turn their way, but Liquid always stopped any budding comeback in its tracks.
With the series win, Liquid move on to the Supermajor Grand Final. PSG.LGD have fallen to the lower bracket final, where they'll have a rematch against Virtus.pro - the same team they sent to the lower bracket earlier in the event. After that, it's a best-of-five for all the marbles and you can be sure it's going to be a good one.
