We wish @OGesports all the best even if we won't get the chance to see the boys compete in Shanghai. We are however very excited to announce that @OpTicGaming will be taking taking OG's place in the #supermajor GL HF! #Dota2 pic.twitter.com/zAyBHCEsHo

It's not a surprise that the European squad lost the spot for the biggest Major in the ongoing DPC. With Fly and s4 leaving, OG is not able to announce a five-man roster for the event in Shanghai which starts this Saturday. Because of that, the organizers had to find a replacement for OG. The team to replace them is none other than the Peter 'ppd' Dager-led OpTic Gaming.
NA's hope: From second to first?
With the tragedy of OG, OpTic has now the chance to make the NA dream of a Major win come true. At ESL One Birmingham 2018 the North Americans led by Peter 'ppd' Dager demonstrated the talent in the team already.
No loss in the Group Stage and a 2:1 victory against EE's Fnatic carried the team into the Grand Finals of the tournament, where they had to combat a strong Virtus.pro - the 0:3 loss was inevitable.
OpTic Gaming was the second NA team to reach a Major Grand Final. Only one week earlier it was Forward Gaming who surprisingly reached a Grand Final at Mars Media Dota 2 League: Changsha.
Both OpTic and VGJ.S will be attending the Supermajor and China now, as well as the new formed Evil Geniuses lineup.
Do you think one of the NA squads is able to win the last Major of the season?
