Changes were expected for Evil Geniuses but perhaps not as significant as the ones that became known today. The announcement of the birth of Fear's first child and his recent performances led many to expect the EG veteran to be the one to leave the roster, but it was actually the EG captain Rasmus 'rASmus' Fillipsen who was first to break news that he would be leaving the team.
On Twitter shortly after the end of the Birmingham Major, Misery tweeted that he had been kicked from EG, but said he was "happy and relieved" to be out. Misery was Evil Geniuses' newest addition this season, but is now left without a team just 3 weeks before the TI8 Regionals. Due to the rules in place, any team he joins would have to go through Open Qualifiers to earn a spot in the TI8 Regional Qualifiers.
Shortly after Misery's tweet came one from Fear, who announced that he too would no longer be part of the EG Dota roster. "Happy I get some time at home after a very exhausting and disappointing season. Wish everyone all the best," said Fear in his tweet.
Don't worry guys, I'm off the EG Dota roster too. Happy I get some time at home after a very exhausting and disappointing season. Wish everyone all the best 🙂.

Evil Geniuses' performance at the Birmingham Major had many fans doubtful the roster would survive until the TI8 Qualifiers, but now Evil Geniuses are down to just 3 players and time is ticking to find two suitable new additions to get them to TI8. It will be interesting to see whether Sumail will remain an offlaner or return to being a mid-player now that the position is free.
