Peter 'ppd' Dager already explained his opinion about it. Now
Jacky 'EternaLEnVy' Mao joined him and shows the disadvantage for SEA.
NaVi n OG invited to super major is a big fuck you to competitive integrity n esp the SEA scene

The opinion of EE is clear - he disapproves of the idea of inviting
Natus Vincere and
OG. What's interesting at this point is that Na'Vi are just 249 points ahead of Fnatic in the rankings, with both teams close to reaching the top 8 for TI8 direct invites. Since the tournament in China will award the most DPC points of any Major event, an invite is more than important for the teams who want to earn an invite for The International.B4 Mineski won DAC it was 1 slot for SEA no invites for almost everything

EE especially talks about the topic of SEA being at a huge disadvantage this season.
He explains that tournaments (the majority held outside SEA) had just one slot for SEA, whereas other regions benefitted from tournaments held in their own area. With
Mineski winning DAC in Shanghai, SEA finally got their highlight moment of the season, which could have led to more invites for tournaments - if the season wasn't over soon. While being at a disadvantage concerning invites, SEA has another problem this week. ESL One, MDL, GESC and the Supermajor now have qualifiers all in the same week. As it is the end of the season, it's the last chance for them to qualify for important tournaments and earn that invite to TI8.
Invites were set way before
So I double checked if I was really wrong and turns out .. I wasn't.

I have absolute clarification from PGL and PW that EVERY single team for the #SuperMajor got their invites in an email on March 19, 2018 -- that is 10 days prior to DAC and right after GESC.
Thank you.
Due to the controversy surrounding the invites, the organizations were forced to confirm that the invites were indeed decided before DAC.
Phillip Aram, COO and Manager of
Evil Geniuses - one of the teams benefitting from a Supermajor invite - gave insight into the Supermajor invite process by explaining that they were granted their invitation while they were still in the top 8.Of those 5 minor invites:

4 (PGL, Summit, CD, GESC 1) came at the start of the season when there was no reason to believe our performance at TI was more than a fluke and organizers got declined by others or felt the need to secure a team early so they could sell tickets/sponsors
EternalEnvy has his own opinion, but what do you think about the invite process?
