The ten invites were determined based on performance and standings prior to DAC 2018. As a result,
OG,
Evil Geniuses and
Natus Vincere made it onto the invite list for the Supermajor, which has a bigger prize pool and more DPC points than any other Major on the circuit.ppd can still go to the Major

With the final invites announced, ppd couldn't contain his frustration at not being invited. However, he still has the chance to earn a lot of DPC points, should his team earn the NA qualifier slot.
After a good performance at Starladder | ImbaTV Invitational #5, his
OpTic Gaming squad are the favourites for that slot. The winner will go to TI8
After @OpTicGaming take Starladder (their first DPC points of the season), it drops the TI8 Guaranteed Invite line to 5402 points.

Also, the winner of the Supermajor should get 3375 points, which is currently enough to guarantee 5th place. Scary few events left!
To show the importance of the final tournament before TI, analyst Noxville calculated that the winner of the tournament could have enough points to be guaranteed 5th place - giving that team a direct invite to The International 8.
All 16 teams participating in China for the Supermajor still have their destinies in their own hands when it comes to earning a direct invite to Valve's mega event - this year to be held in Vancouver.
