The Starladder | ImbaTV Invitational #5 is very nearly upon us but PSG.LGD have just dropped out, forcing the tournament organization to find a last-minute replacement. .@VegaSquadron to replace @LGDgaming at StarLadder ImbaTV Invitational#dota2 #dotasltv #InvitationalS5 Read more: https://t.co/OwjiTzKXuZ pic.twitter.com/qpQLy0houe— StarLadder Dota 2 (@dotasltv) April 8, 2018

LGD originally made it into StarLadder as the winners of the Chinese qualifier. The runner-up was Invictus Gaming but with less than a week to go before the event and visas required for Chinese teams travelling to the Ukraine, there likely wasn't enough time to bring them in. StarLadder went instead with a more local replacement - Vega Squadron *.

StarLadder's announcement says that LGD chose to drop out because of the "intense tournaments schedule." It is likely that since the squad made it to the Grand Final of the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018 and took 2nd place as well as a healthy share of DPC points, they've decided to rest instead of playing a Minor for relatively few points.

Vega Squadron will take LGD's place in the event as well as in their GSL group. Seeding has not been changed, so Vega join Group B with Fnatic, SG e-sports and Natus Vincere. The event kicks off April 12th.
