Take that, punks. Evil Geniuses have been invited to yet another event, this time ESL One Birmingham 2018. They are the third of what will eventually be six total directly invited teams.

NA Dota's finest have booked their ticket to Birmingham, adding yet another Major to their schedule in this crucial pre-TI8 event season. EG haven't been consistently invited to every Major in the past months, but their performance since the addition of Rasmus 'rASmus' Fillipsen has been very solid. They're currently sitting in 7th on the DPC ranking but a Top 4 finish in a Major can help them rocket up the ranks to get closer and closer to securing a spot at TI8 in August.

Evil Geniuses' last complete event was GESC E-Series: Jakarta, which they won. It was a Minor, but it was their first event win on the DPC circuit and a sign of their growing strength. They are currently doing well in Shanghai at the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018. They took third in their group with a 5-2 record and eliminated Newbee with a 2-0 win in the deciding breakout matches to secure themselves a spot in the playoffs.

ESL One: Birmingham will be an incredibly important event on the DPC calendar this year as the second-to-last Major before The International. Birmingham runs May 23-27 and is follwed almost immediately afterward by the Dota Supermajor in China which runs May 29 through June 10. After that, all that remains are the qualifiers for TI and a long wait for the main event in late August.
