Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018 is the biggest story of the week - the first Major to be held in China begins! Alongside it there are a few other highlight matches taking place this week.


The groups have been drawn for DAC 2018, meaning China's first Major can finally begin. Sixteen teams will fight for $1m USD starting on 29 March. The group stage will end on 1 April, with the playoffs then starting after a day's break and ending on 7 April.

All sixteen teams play in a BO1 round robin. The top two teams from each group advance to the playoffs, while the bottom two are eliminated. The 3rd-6th place teams from each group will proceed to the Breakout round, where the winners in this BO3 round advance to the playoffs. From here, the usual double-elimination system takes over.

From 30 March to 1 April the CIS Qualifier for GESC E-Series: Bangkok takes place. Four teams are participating in this qualifier for the event starting on 9 May.

For the main event in Bangkok, three teams are already known - the only invite went to Team Secret, while VGJ.Thunder and SG e-sports advanced via the North America and Latin America regional qualifiers.
