Digital Chaos have been out of Dota 2 since late 2017. In the meantime, the organization has revamped their website, hired new management and branched out into other esports. Their new CEO is someone that might be familiar to fans of the Dota 2 scene: Greg Laird, who previously worked for Beyond the Summit and founded the somewhat short-lived but influential broadcasting and content hub HighGroundTV in 2014-2015. In the past, Digital Chaos' website was often out of date and roster changes would go unannounced, but Laird promises that things will change with the revamped version of the organization.
In the future I'm hoping to be a larger part of content produced by @DIGITALCHAOSgg (more than my cameo in the announcement) to help give some insight into our decision making, and the daily operation of the team. Hoping to turn DC into a brand fans can more easily connect with.— Greg Laird (@WhatIsHipTV) March 7, 2018
Animal Planet was formed in early January during the hectic qualifier season. Their results weren't bad - they finished second in both the Starladder | i-League Invitational #4 qualifier, the ESL One Katowice 2018 NA last-chance qualifier and secured a spot at GESC E-Series: Jakarta. They were quickly signed by Iceberg Esports at the end of that same month.
However, the Iceberg CS:GO roster alleged that they were owed money and had been blocked by the organization on Twitter. Shortly afterward, Kurtis 'Aui_2000' Ling announced that the Dota 2 team had left the organization. They had played several more qualifiers during that brief time but were not as successful as in their first month.
Now Animal Planet have found a new home with Digital Chaos. Their full roster is:
Ravi 'ritsu' Kodippili
Jonathan Bryle 'Bryle' Santos De Guia
David 'Moonmeander' Tan
Kurtis 'Aui_2000' Ling
Stanley 'Stan King' Yang
