ESL sticking with the classics for Katowice talent

posted by Abelle,
Less than a week remains before the group stage of ESL One Katowice 2018 kicks off, so ESL have finally announced the list of talented folks headed to Poland for the upcoming Major. We've kept you waiting long enough - here are the many faces that will guide you through #ESLOne Katowice!https://t.co/ZYQ2hXvQzr pic.twitter.com/3aCZc0B2lE— ESL Dota2 (@ESLDota2) February 15, 2018

The lineup is very similar to the one used at ESL One Hamburg 2017 with just a few exceptions - neither Synderen nor Merlini will be present, but Purge and Fogged are new editions since the Major in Germany. TobiWan is also making his return after missing ESL One Genting 2018 last month. OJ Borg is still a fresh face for Dota 2, but as we saw in Hamburg he's no amateur when it comes to hyping up a crowd.

ESL have also added nods to a few of the faces behind the scenes at the upcoming event. Jonathan “PimpmuckL” Liebig returns as an observer along with Layerth, the ingame production upgrade system he has developed alongside Aleksandar “bukka” Bukurecki. Statsman Benjamin "Noxville" Steenhuisen will also be onsite.

The ESL One Katowice group stage and first quarterfinal match will be held Feb 20-23, then the action moves onto the Spodek Arena for the main stage matches Feb 24-25. The event is a Pro Circuit Major featuring a $1,000,000 prize pool and 1500 DPC points for the Top 4 teams.
