Merlini retires from casting Dota 2

posted by Abelle,
Ben "Merlini" Wu has been an important part of our community since it the original DotA days. His presence has elevated our scene for many years, but yesterday he announced that he has retired from the Dota 2 casting life. Additional answers:-I have unfortunately rescinded my decision to attend GESC.-Stream will be intermittent, if at all.-No, I don't have a secret job at Valve.— Ben Wu (@MerliniDota) February 13, 2018

He also made a rather lengthy post on r/dota2 with a more in-depth explanation for his decision. You can read that here.

Merlini's claims to fame are many. You might know him by his nickname M-God, earned with his amazing Zeus plays playing professional DotA. Maybe you were an avid viewer of his streams, enjoying "Trance around the world" and his insistence on building Midas and Boots of Travel on practically every hero. Perhaps you're newer to Dota 2 and you appreciate his insights as an analytical caster or a panelist on a desk? Whichever Merlini you remember best, his impact on the Dota 2 community in undeniable.

We're wishing Merlini all the best with whatever he chooses to do next with some of our favourite Merlini moments from the past:
