The second and final elimination match on Day 1 of ESL One Genting 2018 was between br SG e-sports and cn Vici Gaming. The Brazilian squad managed to force a Game 3, but were eliminated after Vici took the series 2-1. It was a good run by @SGe_sports but a 1-2 defeat against @ViCi_Gaming makes them the 2nd team to be eliminated from #ESLOne Genting 2018. The two teams started their day with losses in the upper bracket's first round single-game series. Vici were knocked down by their own brethren cn VGJ.Thunder, while SG were faced with arguably the toughest opponents possible: returning ESL champions ru Virtus.pro. SG tried ro use their not-so-secret weapon (Guilherme 'Costabile' Silva Costabilé's Arc Warden) to catch VP off guard but it wasn't enough to best the CIS squad.

Their lower bracket series turned out to be the only series to go the distance today. Every other best-of-three in Genting so far has been a 2-0 sweep, but SG e-sports managed to take a win off Vici in Game 2. The Brazilians' Game 2 performance came down to some very well coordinate teamplay around Adriano '4DR' Machado's Tinker, who got off to a very strong start and carried his team to victory.

Vici Gaming made sure to ban Tinker, Lycan and Arc Warden in Game 3, gave Rubick to Zhi Cheng 'LaNm' Zhang and barrelled their way to a convincing victory. LaNm managed to keep himself alive for the entire game, the only player on his team to do so. Vici Gaming will face Int Fnatic in the second round of the lower bracket tomorrow.
