OpTic Gaming's captain
Peter 'ppd' Dager announced the addition of one of Europe's rising offlaners as their new support player.

Offlaner TheCoon joins as a support player
Neta '33' Shapira was a stand-out player for the
Double Dimension*/
HellRaisers* in the offlane, but he joins Optic Gaming as their new position 4. At the end of 2017 Optic made use of
Martin 'Saksa' Sazdov as a temporary stand-in while they continued their hunt for a long-term replacement. On Twitter Optic captain PPD said that 33 would be joining for the January Qualifiers and the Galaxy Battles Major, and that he was "stoked" to start playing after the holidays. Galaxy Battles II will be the first Major of 2018 and will takeplace from the 15th-21st January.
The news of 33/TheCoon moving to play for Optic comes the exact same day as Planet Dog qualified for the ESL One Genting Minor, which is taking place in Malaysia on the 23rd-28th January.
UPDATE: Quote from CC&C's AMA on 23rd December
CC&C was asked during his AMA why the team didn't pick up Universe. This was his response:
"We sorta ruled universe out near the start because zai wanted to stick with the 3 role. After that it was between a few people and mostly got decided by everyone just sorta talking about their gut feelings on people, and who would work out in the long term the best. Because that's what everyone's shooting for, a team you can work upwards with and compete well at TI. And we felt like 33 was the best fit for that."
