A Canadian contender,
Kurtis 'Aui_2000' Ling made a name for himself as a Hero build pioneer. As a former Carry for PotM Bottom (picked up by Team Dignitas in 2012), he became one of the most well-known players of his time. Team Dignitas did so well that they were invited to The International 2013. Since then, Aui has only missed one International event as a player: The International 2016, during which he coached 13th – 16th place
Team Secret. In 2015, Aui won The International 2015 with
Evil Geniuses but was swiftly kicked from the team. While there were wild speculations about the “cursed” player, captain
Peter 'ppd' Dager laid out in a blog post why they decided to make the controversial move:1. Not an effective communicator
2. Often makes mistakes under high pressure
3. Creates a stressful environment

He spent the next two years of his career bouncing between EG and other teams such as
Digital Chaos* and Team NP (becoming Cloud9 in mid-2017), the only break coming during his 2016 stint coaching Team Secret.Aui swapped between the role of Carry and Position 4 Support but has settled on Support play as of The International 2017, his last event in the pro circuit under the banner of Cloud9. Shortly after the event and their last-place finish, the team disbanded and Aui became a free agent once more.
Any team looking for an aggressive roaming support should look no further. Assuming ppd was correct about Aui’s weak points, and assuming they haven’t improved over the years, he will need a coach and strong captain to lead him and help shape him into a calm-headed communicator. If he can achieve cohesion with his new teammates, he’s one of the top free agents heading into 2018.
