The day of Dota 2 at ROG Masters 2017 today was a short one - just two quarterfinal best-of-three matches between the bottom four teams from yesterday's group stage. In the first match, my WarriorsGaming.Unity took on cn Team Max, followed by eu Gang Squad* vs ph Execration. What a great showing by @PENTA_Sports today! See you tomorrow in the #RMGRANDFINALS Playoffs. #ROGMASTERS pic.twitter.com/FvqLHsyLYl— ROG MASTERS (@ROGMasters) December 8, 2017

Home town squad WarriorsGaming managed to keep the Southeast Asian ROG MASTERS dream alive thanks to a solid 2-1 over Team MAX. Things got off to a shaky start when Team MAX took a disgustingly one-sided Game 1 win with 39 to WG's 5 kills but WG didn't let it get in their heads. The Malaysian squad turned things around in the next two games and have advanced to face ru Team Empire tomorrow.

PENTA's match against Execration was a similar story: they lost the first game, though it was nowhere near as one-sided as Game 1 from the previous match. Their next two victories almost mirrored each other. They were both under 26 minutes, both used midlane Viper as their main damage-dealer and both ended with 24 kills for PENTA. They advance to face world OpTic Gaming in tomorrow's semifinal round.
