New Finnstack appears, this time with No Captain

5 Anchors + No Captain is a brand new Finnish squad formed one day after the 100th anniversary of Finland's independence and a throwback to an older, much-loved Finnish squad. The team name is a reference to the old 4 Anchors + Sea Captain squad. The titular Sea Captain was none other than

Lasse 'Matumbaman' Urpalainen, who spent some time studying to become a ship captain in Finnish military school before going full-time with Dota 2.

4A+SC never won any big LAN events but it was the place where MATUMBAMAN and

Jesse 'JerAx' Vainikka made a name for themselves. Jerax left first, playing short stints on both Team Tinker and MVP Hot6. Both JerAx and MATUMBAMAN then joined 5Jungz together in the post-TI5 shuffle.

Three of the 5A+NC roster were former members of 4A+SC. The newcomers are

Peetu-Elmeri 'Peksu' Väätäinen and

Topias 'Topson' Taavitsainen, two players whose names might be a bit familiar thanks to their recent few of months playing with SFTe-sports and later

No Rats*.
