Team Secret made it to their second Major Grand Finals following a 2-1 win over the TI7 champions Team Liquid yesterday.

The win over Liquid ensures Team Secret top spot in the TI8 Qualifying Points leaderboards regardless of whether they finish 1st or 2nd in the Grand Finals. Team Secret are the only team to make it to both Major Grand Finals, having finished runner-up at ESL One Hamburg.
Their final boss before reaching the Grand Finals had come back from 0-1 to beat
Virtus.pro in the semis, and Secret gave them a taste of their own medicine to do exactly the same in the winner-bracket final. Liquid looked formidable in Game 1 with the 
Lasse 'Matumbaman' Urpalainen Tiny and 
Maroun 'Gh' Merhej Wisp combo, to which Secret had no response.LIquid went for Wisp and Tiny once again in the second game but Secret were well prepared for it.
Marcus 'Ace' Hoelgaard, who had been powerless to stop Liquid in Game 1 as Lone Druid towered above them in Game 2 as Lifestealer, thanks to the sublime scouting work by captain

Shadow Fiend and Elder Titan steal the show
Team Secret were all over the third game with standout performances on two uncommon heroes, the
Yazied 'YapzOr' Jaradat Elder Titan and the 
Yeik Nai 'MidOne' Zheng Shadow Fiend. Team Secret never lost more than 1 or 2 personnel in engagements but Team Liquid suffered heavy losses each time there was a fight, Matumbaman's Monkey King a familiar name on the death register. Secret's best performance in the series to end the 3rd game 42-12 in their favour. Team Secret now await either
Team Liquid or 
Evil Geniuses in the Grand Finals.
