Fnatic head to the DreamLeague Major in good shape and with Abed as their new mid-laner#7 Fnatic
Fnatic's abyssmal record after The International 7 has been well documented but in the last few weeks they have undergone a transformation. Fnatic made the decision to change their mid player mid-season and brought in
Abed 'Abed' Yusop as a replacement for
Steve 'Xcalibur' Ye. Captain
Jacky 'EternaLEnVy' Mao said in a Twitlonger post after the change that Abed was the team's first choice initially but they ended up going for Xcalibur. Pre-Abed Fnatic were fortunate to attend two Pro Circuit events as a stand-in for teams who dropped out but were finished 7-8th out of 8 teams in both ESL One Hamburg and DotaPit Season 6.Since Abed joined Fnatic won both the DreamLeague Major SEA Regionals and the Dota Summit 8 Minor SEA Regionals, their first Regional victories since the formation of the team under EternalEnvy post-TI7. Fnatic have won 9 of their last 13 games and head to their second Major in completely different form to their unfortunate cameo at ESL One Hamburg. Fnatic will most likely have to try to make something of the lower-bracket after being matched with
Team Liquid in the first round of the double elimination playoffs.
