MidOne's advice for Infamous: Never give up

posted by Abelle,
eu Team Secret just finished destroying pe Infamous in their PGL Open: Bucharest lower bracket elimination match, and my Yeik Nai 'MidOne' Zheng had some words of wisdom for the young Peruvian squad in the post-game interview.

Redeye started by asking about how he enjoyed his hero in the second game of their match against Infamous. The midlaner had played Venomancer. The hero is a very common sight this patch, but it was only MidOne's second ever official match playing it.

"I mean I do, it's very simple. You place wards and farm and just sit, that's it," he explained. Even though he hardly even plays the hero in pub games, he had no issues picking it up, saying, "he's a cancerous hero so everyone can play it."

Infamous went down in a pretty one-sided match, so MidOne's words of advice were all about perseverance (and not the in-game item).

"You're gonna go through a hard time. I mean I lost for a whole year, right? I mean last year I fucking lost the whole year, not winning any tournaments. You just have to struggle until you win. Never give up."

Finally, the panel asked about Team Secret's coach kr Lee 'SunBhie' Jeongjae and what role he's taken in the booth during drafts. MidOne explained that he keeps the team in check when necessary.

"He makes sure that we don't really do mistakes like he will make a wake-up call if there's something surprising. Like if there's a Huskar, he will strongly advise us to pick AA right away, like don't think about anything else."

Merlini followed up by asking how MidOne and other players feel about the new coaching rule. MidOne grinned as he answered, saying "I'm not really sure, but I kinda like the coach being there."
